Creating a Presentation (3 weeks)

We will use the content and information learned in the Proper Online Personal Conduct unit to create a presentation that can be used to educate others.

Computers and Networks (3 weeks)

In this unit we will learn the basics of how a computer works and how networks (connected computers) work.

Using the Internet for Research (3 weeks)

  • Evaluating Online Sources – analysis of websites looking for accuracy, evidence of bias, etc. Prior to analyzing websites, students will complete a six-part reading assignment to learn what to look for when checking the credibility of a website.

Writing a Research Report (3 weeks)

  • Research on one of the 56 founding fathers of the United States (Declaration of Independence signers and/or Constitution framers)
  • Using a word processing application, compile a properly formatted 2-4 page report summarizing your research findings

Blogs

In this unit we will investigate what a blog is and some of it’s possible uses. We’ll also get familiar with podcasting. We will use the U.S. Constitution as our content while we investigate these modern tools.
